What I Have Learned so Far

It goes without saying that this class has taught me a lot about different topics. Going into this class at the beginning of the semester, I honestly thought that I was pretty proficient in utilizing different digital tools. Along with this, I figured that I knew pretty much everything there was to know about proper online etiquette and how to handle myself on social media. After spending a couple months in this class, I can honestly say that I am amazed at how much I did not know about these different topics. Every week when I log onto Schoology, I am truly excited to learn more. Twitter is unquestionably an app that is used by the majority of people our age. It is truly a great tool for many different reasons. For the most part, everyone knows what Twitter is. For those who do not, essentially, Twitter is a social networking tool that allows people from all across the world to connect and discuss different topics that are occurring. It is extremely useful for helping people feel more connected to your day to day life. Along with this, it is great for small or large businesses due to the fact that it provides a close feeling of companionship with the customer. After reading Chapter 5 of the Connected Educator, I can truly say that I gained more of a prospective on using helpful tools. It goes without saying that the author goes into great detail and presents many interesting and informative points on using different tools in order to assist in learning different things. For instance, the authors go on to discuss the interesting idea of social bookmarks and talk about the many benefits that it presents. In essence, social bookmarking is basically a centralized online service that allows different users to add, annotate, edit, and share bookmarks of web documents. Chapter 6 Summary and Career Connection

Chapter 6 discusses mainly how to start building the networks within your given field. Regardless of the field you enter, building networks are going to be incredibly important. In my opinion, the networks you build can make or break your success. The chapter gives a great summary on the different types of networks there are. The chapter also goes on to discuss the immense amount of ways to create a network from tools, like social media platforms. In my opinion, this part of the chapter is the most important due to the fact that social media plays a large role in everyone's day to day lives. Whether it is for personal use, or for professional use, there is no denying that social media is something that can be used to build different networks. Basically, the app makes stock trading cheap, intuitive, mobile and easy. There is no denying that people our age love to be able to do something right from their phone. With that being said, this app is exactly what young investors were looking for. This app unquestionably assists to give people a better understanding of what happens in the stock market.
