Twitter is unquestionably an app that is used by the majority of people our age. It is truly a great tool for many different reasons. For the most part, everyone knows what Twitter is. For those who do not, essentially, Twitter is a social networking tool that allows people from all across the world to connect and discuss different topics that are occurring. It is extremely useful for helping people feel more connected to your day to day life. Along with this, it is great for small or large businesses due to the fact that it provides a close feeling of companionship with the customer. In my particular desired field, I feel as if Twitter is almost a necessity. Being a finance major, I use Twitter for a multitude of different things. Mainly, I find that it is incredibly helpful to find up to the minute news of different topics that may affect the topics we are studying in class. Hi Peter,
ReplyDeleteI did not know about the tweet 50 Cent’s made, but after hearing about it in your presentation, I completely agree with you about it being insensitive. He should have never tweeted something like that. It just shows that he was not thinking, and just tweeted out of anger to get back at Perez Hilton. He could have reached out to Perez Hilton privately instead of making that tweet. He has such a big following, and a tweet like that is very insensitive and damaging.

ReplyDeleteI very much agree with your thoughts about 50 cents and his comments on twitter. In fact, I never knew that 50 cents would say things like that over twitter, nor did I find it surprising that he would say things like that. 50 cents is a rapper, and his aim at the end of the day is to keep his rapper's career going and do what he needs to make himself visible in the media and make people, especially the urban community, respect him in some way. I agree that he should have done some research or use common sense to avoid the situation, but since it did happen, he should apologize.
Peter,
ReplyDeleteI never heard of 50 cent's tweet until now. I do agree with your thoughts and what you covered in your presentation. I believed he should have addressed Perez Hilton privately instead of blasting Hilton on social media. Some people think when they get on social media that it makes them feel powerful and that situation is obvious here.
Peter,
ReplyDeleteYou make the point right in the beginning of your video to think twice before you post, and it is astonishing how many people barely even think once before posting. I had no idea that this controversy had happened and you did a great job at explaining the situation. This situation is filled with insensitivity to others and if he had thought twice about what he was posting, this would not have happened.
